This module covers wide range of topics from the basic practice in safety for construction industry to the planning and managing a relevant safety program for a construction project. The students will be able to learn more on developing an effective safety management and produce Jab Safety Analysis (JSA) and safety report related to field work study.
The course introduces students to macroeconomics issues such as inflation, unemployment and international trade. It is designed to provide basic knowledge and understanding about fiscal as well as monetary policies and how these policy instruments can be used to influence macroeconomic activities and achieve macroeconomic objectives.
This course develops the understanding of the principles of quantity surveying used by civil engineers in engineering survey. It covers topics on measurement of earthwork, concrete work, reinforcement work, formwork and estimating.
CLO 1:Describe the basic economic concepts and problems
CLO 2:Explain microeconomic issues using economic concepts
CLO3: Apply related microeconomic concepts on economic issues
This subject introduce students to types, forms, internal forces and joints of statically determinate & indeterminate structures; basic and common knowledge, including methods of analyzing structural elements. A few simple method of analyzing trusses, three hinged arches, portal frames, suspension cables, the influence lines concept for statically determinate beams and deformation analysis of statically determinate structures by using energy method. For statically indeterminate structures, analysis by Slope Deflection Method and Moment Distribution Method will be covered.
